The Rainiest Family Session

Evergreen Beach Trail – Olympia, WA

Unfortunately, I can’t control the weather. But even if I could, I would shoot in the rain. This rain was a little HEAVY for my personal taste, but we made it work!

We had originally planned to shoot at like 4:00 pm, but my weather app told me it was going to be DUMPING rain at 4:00 pm, so we switched it up to 1:00 pm hoping to avoid the downpour. I kept checking and kept checking, and was confident that we would stay dry…

Probably 10 minutes into our session, the rain started. Luckily we brought umbrellas and rain gear just in case, but no amount of coverage was enough.

We all know that it rains a lot here in Washington State, but it’s almost always whispy, wimpy, misty stuff. This rain was different. It was a big, fat, dense downpour that just wouldn’t stop.

I felt terrible, because Whitney (mom) definitely had a golden hour vision in her head for this session. BUT, we all had a great time, they still got some great photos.

They will always remember that day where the weather was chaos, and they could have given up, but they chose to dance in the rain.
