Wildfires throughout central Oregon cancelled our original plans for a Mt. Hood engagement session, and I’m so glad it did (Not glad about the fires, obviously, just that we had to change location!).
We scrambled to find something quickly and settled on Cannon Beach. It ended up being absolutely perfect! We had the most amazing time running around like crazy people and chasing birds on the Oregon Coast. M + T got to get used to being photographed, and I got to finally shoot at session at Cannon Beach!
We started off with a pic-nic set-up, as it was our original plan for the mountain. I like to start engagement sessions off with some kind of activity, so everyone has something to concentrate on instead of worrying about the camera.
T + M brought snacks and booze. I brought the basket, blanket, and glasses, and they had a lovely little evening pic-nic on the beach.
After their lovely pic-nic (and a little booze), they were warmed up, and ready to RUN! We splashed, and spun, and danced. We chased birds and frolicked like weirdos. It was amazing, and so much fun for all of us.
Can you believe these two have never had their photos taken before? They absolutely killed it!
An engagement session with your photographer is so important that I include them in all of my wedding packages. Most people hate having their picture taken until they work with someone that makes it fun. After this session, they felt totally at ease and ready for their elopement photos. It took a huge amount of pressure off on their wedding day, because I wasn’t a stranger anymore.
I highly recommend engagement sessions. You can read more about why HERE.
